One of the main causes of anemia is inadequate nutritional intake, particularly iron and protein. Insufficient protein intake can disrupt iron transport for hemoglobin synthesis, increasing the risk of anemia. This study aimed to determine the relationship between iron and protein intake and the incidence of anemia in pregnant women at Gedong Air Public Health Center, Bandar Lampung, in 2025. This study used a cross-sectional design with a population of 257 pregnant women and a sample of 80 respondents selected through accidental sampling. Data on anemia incidence were obtained from the Public Health Center, while iron and protein intake data were collected through 3x24-hour food recall interviews and analyzed using Nutrisurvey software. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate methods with the chi-square test at a 95% confidence level. The results showed that 60.0% of respondents experienced anemia, 88.8% had insufficient iron intake, and 80% had insufficient protein intake. The chi-square test showed no significant relationship between iron intake and anemia incidence (p=0.773), as well as no significant relationship between protein intake and anemia incidence (p=0.732). Although statistically insignificant, this study indicates that anemia prevalence among pregnant women in this area remains high, with most respondents having inadequate iron and protein intake. Adequate fulfillment of iron and protein remains crucial to prevent anemia and pregnancy complications.
2026-08-01T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2026 Nadia Sagita, Asep Jalaludin Saleh, Radella Hervideahttps://www.jurnal.kesehatan.cendikiajenius-ind.id/index.php/JKKM/article/view/438Hubungan Citra Tubuh, Pengetahuan dan Konsumsi Tablet Tambah Darah (Fe) dengan Anemia Remaja2026-07-24T19:54:09+07:00Anggun Cahyatiangguncahyati26@gmail.comAjib Jayadiajibjayadi26@gmail.comHidayatusy Syukrina PuteriHidayatusysyukrina26@gmail.com
One of the nutritional problems commonly experienced during adolescence is anemia. Anemia is a decrease in the quantity of red blood cells in circulation or the amount of haemoglobin being below the normal limits. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between body image, knowledge, and the consumption of iron supplement tablets with the incidence of anemia in adolescent girls in the Working Area of Sidorejo Community Health Centre, Sekampung Udik District, East Lampung Regency in 2025. Quantitative research type with an analytical survey using a cross-sectional approach. The research was conducted in the work area of the Sidorejo Health Centre, Sekampung Udik District, East Lampung Regency in May-June 2025. The entire population consisted of female adolescents, with a sample of 84 female adolescents. The sampling technique used was cluster random sampling. Statistical testing used the Chi-square test. The frequency distribution of anaemia was 49 (58.3%), non-anaemia 35 (41.7%). The frequency distribution of body image was good 39 (46.4%), poor body image 45 (53.6%). The frequency distribution of knowledge was good 33 (39.3%), sufficient knowledge 24 (28.6%), poor knowledge 27 (32.1%). The frequency distribution of iron supplement tablet consumption was good 36 (42.9%), poor iron supplement tablet consumption 48 (57.1%). The p-value result was 0.000 < α (0.05) indicating a relationship between body image and the incidence of anaemia in adolescent girls. The p-value of 0.000 < α (0.05) shows a relationship between knowledge and the incidence of anaemia in adolescent girls, and the p-value of 0.044 < α (0.05) means there is a relationship between iron tablet consumption (Fe) and the incidence of anaemia in adolescent girls in the Working Area of Sidorejo Health Centre, Sekampung Udik District, East Lampung Regency in 2025.
2026-07-24T19:49:14+07:00Copyright (c) 2026 Anggun Cahyati, Ajib Jayadi, Hidayatusy Syukrina Puteri
